...restaurant on the move
The QE2 terminal at Southampton Docks was the venue for the Novo Nordisk embarkation party; along with Sterling Travel Management, Red Herring Catering orchestrated a brunch banquet for 1110 delegates and guests arriving by car, coach train and plane from the USA, Canada, Australia, India and China. Guests enjoyed chilled champagne, warm pastries and coffee, Paella, a Thai noodle stir fry, canapes and a buffet lunch from the salad bar, served from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Before departing on the QE2 for a 5 day cruise visiting the company's headquarters in Denmark delegates took the opportunity for a soothing massage, caught up with the news and sport on the giant plasma screens from Marvellous Events or relaxed on the comfortable leather sofas surrounded by a lush indoor garden of tropical plants from Expo Flora. The whole event took 6 months to organise, coordinating information between America, Norway and the UK, 150 crew worked tirelessly behind the scenes and Buchannan Events built a complete temporary restaurant kitchen in the ground floor baggage hall, however all the planning paid off and everything went like clockwork.
