Red Herring is proud to be an accredited caterer at over 60 iconic venues including Classic Manor Houses, Contemporary Art Galleries, Famous Cathedrals, and Quaint Barns, all based across the South Coast and London. 

We will visit you at the intended venue or at your home to discuss your requirements, allowing us to design a proposal to suit your particular wishes. We will also ensure that all costs are clear before you make a decision.

Pylewell Park

Positioned on the south coast in the New Forest with a large agricultural and sporting estate, the house sits majestically surrounded by traditionally laid out parkland with unrivalled panoramic views over the Solent along the South coast. With the grandeur of the house and the sea as stunning backdrops, including 100 acres of pleasure gardens and a 15 acre lake, the owners are offering the perfect setting for every bride’s idea for the most romantic wedding venue imaginable. Whether the big day is a daytime or evening affair, Pylewell has the wow factor in spades.

St Giles House

St Giles house lies in Wimborne St Giles on the southern edge of Cranborne Chase. The River Allen rises nearby, and in old documents the village was known as Upwimborne, along with Upwimborne Malmayne and Up Plecy. The earliest record of a family dates to the thirteenth century, when a Malmayne daughter married Robert de Plecy, who died in 1301. His great grandson, Sir Nicholas de Plecy, died without a male heir and his daughter, Joan, married Sir John Hamely, who died in 1398. Sir John, by his second marriage, had a daughter, Egidia, who married Robert Ashley from Wiltshire and their descendants have continued to live at Wimborne St Giles to this day.

Osborne House

Hale Park House

Hale Park is a country house and landscape park in the village of Hale, Hampshire. Hale Park sits at the top of a hill in a quiet, hidden corner of the New Forest where Thomas Archer, the well-respected and successful Georgian architect, built a home for his family in 1715. Hale Park is a new and exclusive venue in which to hold the perfect wedding.

Las Palais Des Vaches is based in Lower Exbury, over looking the top of the Beaulieu River opposite Cowes.

This Venue can hold up to 120 guests.

 Lesley Waters Cookery School at Abbot’s Hill Farm is situated in 9 acres of glorious countryside nestled in the heart of West Dorset and is the perfect location for couples wishing to have a relaxed and gorgeous marquee wedding. Their Wedding Co-ordinator, Cheryl, will work closely with you to turn your dreams and ideas into a reality.

Holywell Estate is situated in the new South Downs National Park in the unspoilt rolling countryside of the Meon Valley in Hampshire. Holywell extends to over 800 acres of varied landscape from arable farmland, ancient semi-natural woodland, river meadows and historic parkland. Holywell House, believed to date back to the 1700s is at the heart of this working estate and is home to the Earl and Countess of Clarendon and their family.

Stansted is a Grade II Listed Edwardian country house set on a 1,750-acre estate within the South Downs National Park. The house began as a hunting lodge in the 11th century, but was developed over many hundreds of years. It sits on the Hampshire/Sussex border between Chichester and Portsmouth overlooking the coast. It offers a great day out for the family, residential and commercial space to let in a heritage setting, plus many other events and local attractions.

Canterbury Cathedral

The Cathedral’s history goes back to 597AD when Augustine, a monk, sent by Pope Gregory the Great as a missionary, established his seat (or ‘Cathedra’) in Canterbury. In 1170 Archbishop Thomas Becket was murdered in the Cathedral and ever since, the Cathedral has attracted thousands of pilgrims, as told famously in Geoffrey Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales.

The Tithe Barn

This magnificent Grade II* listed building has had many uses over the years. Now restored to its original state, we offer this impressive building for hire, capturing an age gone by, but with modern conveniences discreetly to hand.

Smedmore House

 A stunning, privately owned, 18th Century Country House on the Jurassic Coast. Smedmore House, one of Dorset’s finest Georgian manor houses, is available for holidays, weekends, house parties, weddings and civil ceremonies as well as for corporate events, dinners, meetings, presentations and as a film location. Surrounded by countryside and spectacular sea views as far as the eye can see, Smedmore House offers a level of tranquillity and privacy hard to find elsewhere. It sleeps 16 and has a dining-room with Georgian plaster-work and over 100 eighteenth-century Furstenberg plates on the walls.

Plush Manor

Yours to rent exclusively, Plush Manor is a special place to celebrate a romantic wedding, relax with friends and family, or explore the magnificent Dorset countryside. The house is set within 9 acres of wild and landscaped gardens, features accommodation for up to 14 people, distinctive entertaining rooms and an indoor swimming pool, as well as a 19th century church (and event space) with breathtaking views over a timeless valley.

The Mary Rose Museum

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is a magical site, with history everywhere you turn, and the new Mary Rose museum is a truly magnificent location right at the heart of the dockyard. They can entertain up to 100 guests for dinner in the Admiral’s Gallery, and can provide canapé receptions for up to 150 guests using the upper deck. Perfect for a special occasion or your next conference!

Chatham Historic Dockyard

Chatham Dockyard covered 400 acres (1.6 km²) and was one of the Royal Navy’s main facilities for several hundred years until it was closed in 1984. After closure the dockyard was divided into three sections. The easternmost basin was handed over to Medway Ports and is now a commercial port. Red herring catering organized a dinner for 450 guest ,with the help of the Army ,as this sail loft is 40 foot in the air, all the kit had to be walked up, also we built field kitchen on the same level.

Gin’s farm situated on the Beaulieu river is a quirky, festival style venue with a jetty for glamorous entrances by boat. The venue is a perfect place to bring your unique day to life.

The Gathering Barn

The Godwin Family purchased Keysley Farm in 1990. The traditional brick and flint heritage barns, built in the 1800’s set in glorious rural isolation, on the rolling South Wiltshire Downs. The farm is a tranquil haven and offers magnificent far reaching 360 degree views.

Fullerton Estate

Fullerton Estate is home to the Liddell family who have farmed here for four generations. A selection of simple & stunning outdoor venues to host your wedding, event or party. Four unique sites, all with a vineyard backdrop, set on a private estate in the beautiful Hampshire countryside.

Chawton House Library is a grand Elizabethan country house which makes a stunning wedding venue in Hampshire just an hour away from London. With uninterrupted and spectacular parkland views, plan your wedding at the ‘Great House’ where Jane Austen came to dine, to dance, to be inspired… Licensed for civil ceremonies, Chawton House Library is one of the most unique wedding venues in the UK.

Crowcombe Court

The magnificent house at Crowcombe Court was built in the 1730s in the English Baroque style from beautiful amber coloured bricks with Bath stone for the pilasters and frontispiece. Grade 1 listed, it is available as a wedding venue and hire for private parties and events.

Trafalgar Park

Trafalgar Park enjoys an excellent reputation as a superior venue at which to hold a wedding reception, civil marriage ceremony or civil partnership ceremony.  The house & grounds provide the most stunning setting for such an important occasion.

Il Bottaccio

At the time of its construction, the architects, builders and craftsmen of 8-9 Grosvenor Place intended to create a building that would make an unforgettable impression on London Society of the day. Two centuries later, the impact remains the same.

Harry Warren House is a picturesque 19th century country house set in 4 acres of spectacular seaside grounds.  Visitors are immediately struck when they round the bend in the drive by the breathtaking sweeping views over the bay, the scale and drama of these are quite unexpected.

Oxleaze House

Oxleaze Barn is located on an organic family farm in the heart of the picturesque Cotswolds.The Barn was traditionally a grain barn and has been restored to reflect the earthy goodness of the surrounding countryside.  The barn is a rural venue, nestled between quintessential English villages, and offers you outstanding rustic charm, and character in abundance.  The barn has exposed beams and stonework as well as incorporating state of the art technology and sound systems which have been discreetly installed.

Deans Court

A beautiful private house and garden just a stone’s throw from the centre of Wimborne Minster, Dorset. Run by William and Ali Hanham, Deans Court has been in the Hanham family for nearly 500 years and today the estate hosts a wedding venue, vintage lifestyle shop and health-food café, holiday cottages & houses, organic produce grown in a walled kitchen garden and tours of the house and ancient gardens.

TheBanqueting House

Designed by revolutionary architect Inigo Jones, the Banqueting House is one of the most dazzling wedding venues in London. Both the Main Hall and the Undercroft are licensed as civil partnership and wedding ceremony venues in London.

Northbrook Park

 Northbrook Park is one of the premier Surrey wedding venues. Set in 120 acres of parkland with views over rolling countryside on the Surrey and Hampshire border. The privately owned Grade II listed eighteenth-century estate is easily accessible with the entrance on the A31 a mile outside of Farnham.

Exbury Gardens

Exbury Gardens in the New Forest offers you a stunning location for your wedding. The 200-acre garden hosts the world famous Rothschild collection and it even has its own 12″ gauge steam railway, which you can use to celebrate your big day in style!

Horsebridge Station

Truly a unique location and has been lovingly restored to it’s former Victorian glory to provide a charming venue for weddings and parties, in a marquee seating up to 100 guests. The station is not open to the public so please contact them first.

Hurst Castle

Hurst Castle is situated at the seaward end of the shingle spit that extends 1.5 miles from Milford-On-Sea. The end of the spit, only three-quarters of a mile from the Isle of Wight, and the views from the top of the centre keep are spectacular.

Setley Ridge Vineyard

Setley ridge is a beautiful, private and personal venue for you to enjoy your special day. Setley Ridge is situated right in the middle of the beautiful New Forest National Park.

Sir John Soane’s museum was a formerly the home of the neo-classical architect .It holds many drawings and models of his projects and the collection of paintings,drawings and antiquities that he assembled.

One Marylebone

Licensed for civil ceremonies and partnerships in both the East Gallery, which is flooded with natural daylight from floor to ceiling windows and adorned with Baccarat crystal chandeliers, and the Soane Hall, which exudes glamour and romance, you are able to host your entire day at One Marylebone.

One Marylebone has been beautifully restored to the original Sir John Soane design, the Grade I listed deconsecrated church boasts three impressive versatile spaces, and landscaped courtyard, just moments from Regents Park.  The shimmering crystal chandeliers and glistening gilt mirrors only enhance this magnificent venue, which promises to be romantic, magical and memorable.

The Bankside Gallery

On the heart of London’s South Bank and just across the river Thames from St Paul’s Cathedral and the City, making it an ideal venue for both contemporary art exhibitions, and private and corporate parties.
